360-degree sound and binaural recordings

Instructors: Artis Kuprišs, Māris Dejus

Last day of the workshop, (Thursday, 15th) will be combined with participants of “Universe in the Metaverse and Augmented Reality”

The aim of the workshop is to learn about sound that could be used with 360 videos and virtual realities.

Binaural recording is a method of recording sound that uses two microphones, arranged with the intent to create a 3D stereo sound sensation for the listener of actually being in the environment or room with the sound source.

In the workshop we will experiment with different microphone arrangements and the impressions that can be achieved, use a dedicated binaural microphone and also try to build a DIY version.
