This will be the 7^th year in a row for the international New Media art festival ‘iWeek’.

iWeek encourages and promotes discussions, cooperation and the sharing of experience, knowledge and various possibilities for creative expression. The festival brings together students, new and emerging artists, new media art experts, art critics, media art educators,  researchers and other interested participants from around the world. This year’s participants come from Latvia, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Great Britain, Spain and other countries.

For the last 4 years ‘iWeek’ has been organized by the Liepāja University Art Research Lab and “Electronic Arts and Media Center E-LAB” in collaboration with the “Center for New Media Culture RIXC”.

iWeek was first organized in 2009, thus introducing the new premises in Kūrmājas prospekts 13, designed for education and research of Liepāja University Art Research Lab and the students of “New Media Arts”.

From an educational new media art event, ‘iWeek’ has developed into the leading and most attended media art festival in Kurzeme. The festival brings together interested participants not only from all over Latvia, but also from the Baltics, Europe (Finland, the Netherlands, UK, Spain, etc.), Russia, USA, South Korea and other countries.
